An electric bike pre-ride check you can print
Use the same short routine before each ride: tyres, brakes, wheels and steering, then the battery and everything you are carrying. It helps you spot a change while the bike is still at home. Print this page and keep any item that needs attention on the list until it is resolved.
Before the first ride on a new bicycle
Finish the assembly described in the supplied instructions. TXED bikes arrive approximately 85% assembled; the pre-fitted handlebars still need their final position and securing. A departure checklist complements that work. It cannot supply the missing torque setting or assembly procedure for a particular fastener.
Learn the brake levers, gears and assistance controls in a clear area before setting off into traffic.

Use a clear decision when something changes
A loose wheel, unreliable brake, damaged tyre or unexpected steering movement needs attention before riding. The same applies to an unsecured battery or electrical equipment showing abnormal heat, deformation, smell or smoke. Resolve the issue or arrange help instead of turning the first part of the commute into a fault-finding test.
Start the ride gently in a clear space and confirm familiar braking, steering and shifting. A problem that appears under use belongs on the action list even if the bike looked normal while stationary.
