Choosing the Maverick
The Maverick combines 20 × 4-inch tyres, a steel frame and hydraulic disc brakes. Consider this format when you want wide tyres and have space to park the complete bike at your destination.
Moving the bike: It is non-folding and weighs approximately 40.4kg. For journeys involving frequent lifting or car and train transfers, compare a lighter or folding model. Allow for any steps between the entrance and parking space.
Riding setup: Compare saddle position, handlebar reach and the model's rider and load information to choose your riding setup.
See the Maverick's dimensions and specifications for the measurements and load information behind your choice.

Explore TXED fat tyre electric bikes for adults who value a stable, substantial ride on roads and mixed leisure routes. Compare the current model specification with your usual surface, storage and handling needs before choosing.
Is a fat tyre electric bike right for your route?
A fat tyre e-bike uses wider tyres than a conventional city or mountain setup. Compare the cushioning, steering feel and storage space alongside your usual road or leisure route.
Choosing an electric bike with fat tyres
A bicycle with fat tyres can feel reassuring on loose gravel, grass, uneven lanes and rougher mixed surfaces. Match the tyres with suitable braking, suspension and rider fit, then choose a route that fits the bike’s intended use.
Fat tyre bike or electric mountain bike?
Start with the surface and riding position: choose the wider-tyre route when comfort and a planted feel matter most, or compare the electric mountain bike collection when a more traditional mountain-bike layout is the priority. The Maverick vs Trail comparison compares the riding position, wheel format and everyday handling of the two TXED models.

Are fat tyre electric bikes UK legal?
Yes: a fat tyre electric bike can be used as an EAPC when its complete configuration meets the rules. The GOV.UK requirements include usable pedals, no more than 250W continuous rated motor power and motor assistance ending at 15.5mph; riders must be at least 14. An eligible EAPC can use cycle paths and other places where pedal cycles are permitted. Our UK buying checklist covers the markings and any throttle approval to check on the exact model.
What is a fat wheel electric bike?
A fat wheel e-bike uses a wide tyre format. On Maverick, the 20 × 4-inch label describes the nominal wheel format and tyre width. The 4-inch tyre is the feature to compare with a narrower city or mountain tyre; the complete frame determines the riding position and storage footprint.
When choosing a fat bike, compare the cushioning and steering feel on your usual route, then the space you need at home. An electric fat tyre bike adds motor assistance to that wide-tyre layout. Our fat tyre and replacement-tyre guide explains the size markings, tread and fitting details to use when comparing tyres.
