ENGWE X24 vs X26: Size, Batteries and Storage

TXED Bikes ·

Establish the electrical version before treating an X24 or X26 as an ordinary UK pedal-cycle purchase: the UK-linked X24 manual lists a 1000W motor. For the physical comparison, the X24 is the shorter bicycle, while the X26 uses larger wheels and a taller folded shape. Both are substantial fat-tyre models. Start with the riding position and storage opening before deciding whether their dual-battery format suits your journeys.

TXED manufactures and sells e-bikes. This guide compares public manufacturer specifications, not riding or braking tests. The UK information was read on 14 September 2026.

The dual-battery versions compared

Published feature X24 X26
Tyres 24×4in 26×4in
Battery arrangement 48V 19.2Ah plus 48V 10Ah 48V 19.2Ah plus 48V 10Ah
Total nominal energy 1,401.6Wh 1,401.6Wh
Listed bike weight in the dual-battery specifications 41.9kg 43.6kg
Overall length 187.4cm 196.1cm
Folded length × width × height 106×74×107cm 110×72×120cm

Both specifications list hydraulic disc brakes and eight-speed Shimano gearing. The source is the official UK X-series page. Its quoted weights are manufacturer bike-weight figures for the displayed specifications; confirm the complete battery-and-accessory configuration before using them as a lifting or carrier limit.

Why the larger number is not automatically better

The wheel number identifies a wheel format, not a personal fit recommendation. The two frame layouts have different saddle heights and reach measurements. Try the exact bicycle with the saddle set for pedalling, then practise mounting and stopping. A rider who cannot comfortably manage those movements gains little from a larger wheel label.

The folded dimensions also resist a simple “smaller bike” assumption: the published X24 shape is shorter and lower, but slightly wider. A narrow doorway and a low boot opening can therefore lead to different choices. Draw the footprint on the floor and measure the height of any shelf or opening.

Leave enough room to grip and turn the folded bike. The weight is still substantial after folding, and a removable battery may need a separate safe carrying and storage plan. If daily stairs are unavoidable, compare a lighter format before committing to either X model.

Single and dual battery are different offers

The UK selector lists both 19.2Ah single-battery and 29.2Ah dual-battery X24/X26 options. At 48V these correspond to 921.6Wh and 1,401.6Wh nominal energy. The additional 10Ah pack supplies 480Wh; it should be a deliberate choice for your charging needs, not an assumed item in every X-series box.

The selected Grey X24 with 29.2Ah dual batteries displayed £1,799 and was out of stock. That is the observed complete-bike price for that selection. It should not be transferred to a single-battery X24 or an X26 offer. Compare written totals for the exact bike, battery count, delivery address and equipment.

Higher capacity can be useful for longer outings or infrequent charging opportunities, while adding mass and charging logistics. The same nominal Wh does not guarantee identical range on the X24 and X26, and a maker’s maximum-distance claim is not your journey result.

Establish the electrical version for your intended use

The UK product table does not state motor watts, while the UK-linked X24 manual lists 1000W under motor power alongside 25km/h. Its battery and weight figures also differ from the product page. This makes matching the document to the supplied version essential; it is not proof that every current X24 offer has the same motor. The X26 manual calls itself a general manual and discusses pedal-assist and throttle operation. We have not verified a current X26 continuous rating from those sources.

For EAPC use, get the exact model’s marked continuous rating, assistance limit and control specification. The official riding rules require a continuous rated output no higher than 250W alongside the other conditions. A genuine 1000W continuous rating exceeds that condition even with a 25km/h speed setting. A UK website address or shared family name cannot settle the supplied version.

Take your storage measurements and intended journey to a trial, then request the exact specification in writing. Our folding-bike guide helps decide whether this large folding format fits the whole journey from riding to parking.
